Major League Evaluation Information - Spring 2024
Weston Majors Parents:
On behalf of Weston Little League & Wayland Little League, we want to share some exciting news as related to the upcoming Majors season. As you may be aware from last summer's initiative, Wayland & Weston merged to form sone summer team at both the Minors & Majors levels to compete in the Tondorf Tournament. This year we have decided to merge towns for the spring season at the Majors Level, so there will be a mix of Wayland & Weston players on each
team.
Each team will be represented by an MLB team, with represented by an MLB team, with uniforms provided by the town (jersey & Hat)
We feel strongly that this decision will create more excitement and competitiveness at the Majors level as kids enter their final years of Little League. Merging programs at this level also increases volunteers, increases field availability and enables us to compete in the summer tournaments (i.e. District Little League World Series, Tondorf, Jimmy Fund, etc.)
In an effort to expand and improve our program, it is important to evaluate our players as they go through the program, not only for the spring season, but also for the summer select teams. To that end, there will be MANDATORY MAJORS EVALUATIONS (5th & 6th grades) at Sudbury Field House - 31 Union Ave., Sudbury.
Please attend at least one of the sessions below, but feel free to attend both if desired.
- Sunday, March 3rd: 3-4pm
- Sunday, March 10th: 3-4pm
- Snow date: March 17th: 3-4pm
This summer we plan to enter a Wayland/Weston 12U District Team for the Little League World Series (tentative dates are during the first two weeks of July). We also plan to enter the Tondorf tournament again (tentative dates are June 16th - July 22nd). Once again, these evaluations play an important role in identifying the right makeup for these teams.
