Spring Softball Leagues
Pre-K/K Softball
For children who are currently in or will be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2024
Practices/Scrimmages: Saturday mornings 8:30am - 9:30am
Pre-K/K softball is a t-ball league which tracks with Farm League baseball. The goal is to have fun while learning the basic fundamentals of the batting stance and swing, fielding ground balls, throwing, and catching. Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups. For the scrimmages, no score is kept, teams bat around, and there are no strikeouts.
Players should bring their own helmet, bat, glove, water bottle, and willingness to be a great teammate!
Parents are needed to help - so come along!

Intro to Coach Pitch
1st & 2nd Grade Softball (Intro to Coach Pitch)
Practices: Saturday mornings 11am - 12:15pm
Games: Monday evenings at Burchard
Focus is on having fun, learning good sportsmanship, and improving skills for batting, fielding, catching, and throwing, as well as introductory softball strategy and situational play. Sessions will run for 75 minutes. Half will be practice in multiple skills stations and the other half a "small sided" game, where everyone on each team gets to bat and play the field. Practice will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups.
Each game is coach pitch with no strikeouts or walks. Each inning is played until each player gets to bat.
Players should bring their own helmet, bat, glove, water bottle, and willingness to be a great teammate!
Parents are needed to help - so come along!

Junior League Softball
Junior League Softball is for players in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
Practices: 1/week. Tue or Thu evenings @ 5:30-7p
Games: 2/week. Tue or Thu evenings & Sat @ 3:30p
This is a travel league and our games are played against nearby towns (Wellesley, Wayland, and Needham)
These games are more competitive with increased rules and umpires. Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups. Each game is kid pitch with most softball rules incorporated such as strikeouts, steals, extra bases, etc. Each inning is played to 4 runs or 3 outs and fielders are encouraged to employ softball strategy to get outs at the appropriate base.
WLLS provides socks and jerseys. Players should bring their own glove, helmet, bat, fielding mask, a water bottle and a willingness to be a great teammate.

Senior Softball
Senior League Softball is for children currently in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
Practices & Games: 2 to 3 games per week on Wednesday evenings, Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons
**In the event that Weston has a Middle School team, during the Middle School season practices may be suspended.
We play in a competitive travel league against teams from Needham, Wayland, and Wellesley.
Focus is on having fun, learning good sportsmanship, and improving skills for batting, fielding, pitching, catching, and throwing, as well as intermediate softball strategy and situational play. New players are always welcome!
Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups.
WLL provides visors and jerseys. Players should bring their own glove, helmet, bat, fielding mask, a water bottle, and willingness to have fun and be a great teammate!
Parents are needed to help - so come along!

Fall Softball Leagues
1st & 2nd Grade
1st and 2nd graders will participate in a softball clinic to continue developing softball skills and learn new skills.
Program dates are as follows:
Saturdays 10:30a -11:30am at Burchard Park.

3rd - 5th Grade
Weston will play in the Charles River Softball League with games played against surrounding towns.
Weekday practices will be determined by coach availability, likely no more than once a week.
Program dates are as follows:
Sundays beginning at 9am and ending no later than 11am.

6th - 9th Grade
Weston will play in the Charles River Softball League with doubleheader games played against surrounding towns.
We have the option of entering U12 and U14 teams and will be dependent on registration numbers.
Weekday practices will be determined by coach availability, likely no more than once a week.
Program dates are as follows:
Sundays beginning at 9am and ending no later than 12:45pm.
