SPRING SOFTBALL LEAGUES

PREK & KINDERGARTEN SOFTBALL
For players presently in Kindergarten and for PreK players who will turn 5 before 8/31/25

Games/Practices: 
Saturday mornings 8:30am-9:30am
Location: Burchard Park
Season: April 12 (weather permitting) and runs through mid-June. No games over Memorial Day Weekend
Cost: $175.00

Pre-K/K softball is a t-ball league which tracks with Farm League baseball. The goal is to have fun while learning the basic fundamentals of the batting stance and swing, fielding ground balls, throwing, and catching. Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups. For the scrimmages, no score is kept, teams bat around, and there are no strikeouts.

Players should bring their own helmet, bat, glove, water bottle, and willingness to be a great teammate!

Parent volunteers are always needed!



INTRODUCTION TO SOFTBALL

Age: Players must be in 1st grade
Practices/Games: Saturdays and optional Tuesday nights
Season: Early April (weather permitting) through mid-June. No games on Memorial Day Weekend
Cost: $200

Introduction to Softball. More details coming soon. We are in the process of ironing out the details for a spring season which includes programming with a professional coach in conjunction with Wayland softball. We will offer our 1st graders skills focused instruction in addition to scrimmages and specialized instruction as the season progresses. We hope to offer 1st grade softball on Saturdays with an option for Tuesday nights.

Players should bring their own helmet, bat, glove, water bottle, and willingness to be a great teammate!

Parents are needed to help - so come along!

ROOKIE SOFTBALL

Age: Players in grades 2 & 3
Practices:
Saturday mornings 11am - 12:15pm 
Games: Tuesday evenings 5:30-7 either in Weston or Wayland
Location: Home games at Burchard Park
Season: April 12 and runs through mid-June. No games over Memorial Day Weekend
Cost: $200

Rookie softball is coach pitch. Focus is on having fun, learning good sportsmanship, and improving skills for batting, fielding, catching, and throwing, as well as intermediate softball strategy and situational play. The beginning of the season will consist of in town practices/scrimmages Tuesday/Saturday. The latter part of the season Tuesday practices will become games against Wayland.

Players should bring their own helmet, bat, glove, water bottle, and willingness to be a great teammate!

Parent volunteers are always needed!

JUNIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL

Age: Players in grades 4 & 5

Practices: 1 per week / Tuesday or Thursday evenings 5:30pm - 7pm
Games: 2 per week vs Wayland or Wellesley / Tuesday or Thursday evenings 5:30 and Saturday at 3:30pm
Location: Home & Away fields will be posted on the schedule
Season: Early April (weather permitting) through mid-June. No games over Memorial Day Weekend
Cost: $275

We play in a competitive travel league against teams from Wayland and Wellesley with playoffs at the end of the season.

These games are more competitive with increased rules and umpires. Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups. Each game is kid pitch with most softball rules incorporated such as strikeouts, steals, extra bases, etc. Each inning is played to 4 runs or 3 outs and fielders are encouraged to employ softball strategy to get outs at the appropriate base.

 Weston Softball provides jerseys. Players should bring their own glove, helmet, bat, fielding mask, a water bottle, and willingness to have fun and be a great teammate!

SENIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL

Age: Players in grades 6, 7, 8
Practices:

Games:
2 games per week on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 PM, Sunday afternoons at 3:30 PM.
Season: Early April (weather permitting) through mid-June. No games over Memorial Day Weekend
Cost: $275

We play in a competitive travel league against teams from Needham, Wayland, and Wellesley with playoffs at the end of the season.

Focus is on having fun, learning good sportsmanship, and improving skills for batting, fielding, pitching, catching, and throwing, as well as intermediate softball strategy and situational play. New players are always welcome! Practices will be centered on skills stations and competition between groups.

Weston Softball provides jerseys. Players should bring their own glove, helmet, bat, fielding mask, a water bottle, and willingness to have fun and be a great teammate!
